About us

Humanity Network in Uganda is a non profit Community Based Organization (CBO) registered with NGO department under Community Based Services monitored by NGO Bureau in Gulu city, Uganda.

The registration number is GSDR/03084.Humanity Network in Uganda was founded in 2023.


Our Vision 

To reduce health disparities, prevent crime and improve outcome for vulnerable people.


Our Mission 

To have collaborative efforts, improve community safety,and reduce recidivism in Gulu, Acholi Sub-region in Uganda through healthcare, education and criminal justice support.

The Humanity Network in Uganda officially operates under these five core principles


Integrity.

Maintaining the highest standards of personal honesty and ethical behavior in all programs.


Empathy.

We approach every individual—whether a vulnerable child, a teenage mother, or someone in the criminal justice system—with genuine care and a desire to understand their lived experience without judgment. 

Empathy is the heartbeat that moves us to act on behalf of others. We strive to "walk in the shoes" of our community members to ensure our health and justice initiatives truly meet their deepest needs.

We recognize the inherent humanity in everyone we serve. Our empathy drives us to restore dignity to those facing social stigma, ensuring no one is left behind.


Love:

The foundational principle for providing care, especially to teenage mothers, children from underprivileged families, and prisoners.


Accountability: Ensuring transparency in operations and financial matters to beneficiaries, partners, and the community.


Collaboration: Working with local authorities, church leaders, and other NGOs to improve community outcomes and reduce recidivism.

What we do

Health 

Humanity Network in Uganda brings basic free medical care to the vulnerable people in the community through outreach focussing on the children and teenage mothers that come from the less privilege family, family will domestic violence and prisoners while focussing on mental health.We do health advocacy through health education and health talking. We promotion good health seeking habits and pre-conception care aiming at minimizing unwanted pregnancy, teenage pregnancy, morbidity and mortality.

Criminal Justice 

We are dedicated to reduce on mental stigma and improve on mental Health in both community and [prisons.We work with community people, students, schools, prisons, church leaders and community leaders to improve on their wellbeing, reduce on crime rate and prepare prisoners for the community re-entry and prevention of recidivism.

Education 

We empower and guide teenage mothers through skills training to earn for a living.Through collaboration, we identify vulnerable children to be supported with education scholarships and as well we work with Christian church leaders to instill I'm the community people on God's morals inorder to prevent crime that lead into sin and death.

3. Mental health advocacy and recovery program.

Activities 

  • Radio talk show on mental health, crime ,drug addiction and alcohol abuse recovery.
  • Counseling and guidance.
  • Community dialogue, school, prison and church outreach.
  • Sensitization and awareness through Marathon activities.
  • Prison poem and drama competition in prison 

There is a lot that happens around the world we cannot control. We cannot stop earthquakes, we cannot prevent droughts, and we cannot prevent all conflict, but when we know where the less privilege, the most vulnerable, the most depressed and the sick exist, then we can help.
When a sick child cry in the middle of day or night, vulnerable mother or teenage mother get stucked and traumatized,this is where Humanity Network in Uganda steps in.
