In 2023, a young girl of 16 years old became pregnant with the community boy. They were both school drop outs. The young girl was immediately disowned by her parents, who told her to “  go and settle with the man who made you pregnant”.

She left home with almost nothing and went to the home of the boy to begin a forceful marriage.

The couple were too young to live independently and so they were relying on the parents of the boy. In time they became tired of them because they didn't have capacity to provide the basic needs. The young girl was subjected to torture and abuses.

Living in the remote community of Otumpili village, she could not access antenatal  services due to lack of nearby health facilities that should deliver those services.

The young girl had her delivery at home, and  this put her with a lot of risks ranging from postpartum haemorrhage, fistula and death.

When Juliana Kifola met the young girl, she was miserable and sick looking. Juliana supported her to get medical treatment and the baby girl was vaccinated.

This pain entered Juliana so deep that she thought it wise to start an organization that would help the community on health, education and criminal justice.

She met Latim Stephen Olam where they began to support community actively.
