Humanity Network in Uganda is a community-based organization dedicated to improving lives through integrated health, education, and criminal justice programs. We empower vulnerable individuals and communities by promoting access to quality services, human rights, and sustainable development. Together, we work to build healthier, safer, and more inclusive communities across Uganda.
At Humanity Network in Uganda, we deliver impactful programs in health, education, and criminal justice to improve the well-being of vulnerable communities. We provide healthcare services, empower learners through education and skills development, and promote access to justice, human rights, and rehabilitation. Through partnerships and community engagement, we create lasting solutions that transform lives and strengthen communities.
Our projects focus on advancing health, education, and criminal justice through community-driven initiatives that address local needs. We implement programs that improve healthcare access, support education and youth empowerment, and strengthen justice, rehabilitation, and human rights. Every project is designed to create sustainable impact, empower vulnerable populations, and build resilient communities across Uganda.
Through collaborative efforts, Humanity Network in Uganda improves community safety, reduces recidivism and strengthens vulnerable communities in Gulu City and the Acholi Sub-region through healthcare, education and criminal justice support.

Humanity Network in Uganda is a non-profit Community Based Organization (CBO) registered with the NGO Department under Community Based Services and monitored by the NGO Bureau in Gulu City, Uganda.

Founded in 2023, Humanity Network in Uganda was established to respond to the urgent challenges facing vulnerable populations, including children, teenage mothers, people affected by poverty, hypertensive elders, and individuals needing support within the criminal justice system.

Humanity Network in Uganda has reached vulnerable people with essential services, providing hope, dignity, and practical support to individuals and families facing hardship. Through our community-based interventions in health, education, and justice, we continue to empower vulnerable communities, strengthen resilience, and create opportunities for a healthier and more inclusive future.
Humanity Network in Uganda has empowered teenage mothers with knowledge, skills and support to rebuild their lives and create better futures for themselves and their children. Through health education, life-skills training, economic empowerment and community support, we help teenage mothers overcome stigma, regain confidence, and pursue opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
Humanity Network in Uganda supports vulnerable children with school sponsorship, helping them access quality education despite financial challenges. Through school fees, scholastic materials and essential support, we are giving these children an opportunity to stay in school, develop their potential and build a brighter, more secure future for themselves, their families and communities.
Humanity Network in Uganda has reached and treated vulnerable children, providing essential healthcare, health education, disease prevention, and referrals. Through community-based interventions, we support children facing poverty and limited access to services. Our work promotes healthier childhoods, protects vulnerable children, and creates opportunities for brighter, more hopeful futures.
Humanity Network in Uganda has supported vulnerable elders living with hypertension through screening, treatment, health education, regular monitoring, lifestyle guidance and referrals. Our interventions help improve blood pressure control, prevent complications, and promote healthier, dignified lives among older people who face financial and healthcare access challenges.
Humanity Network in Uganda has supported prisoners and ex-prisoners through counseling, health education, mental health support and community reintegration initiatives. Our work promotes dignity, rehabilitation and hope while helping former prisoners rebuild their lives, strengthen family relationships, develop positive coping skills and reduce the risk of reoffending.
A Story That Started Everything
In 2023, a 16-year-old girl became pregnant after a relationship with a boy from her community. Both young people had dropped out of school.
After becoming pregnant, the young girl was rejected by her parents and told:
"Go and settle with the man who made you pregnant."
With almost nothing, she left her home and entered a forced relationship with the boy.
Because both were still children themselves and lacked the ability to survive independently, they depended on the boy’s parents. Over time, the family struggled to support them, and the young girl experienced neglect, torture and abuse.
Living in the remote community of Otumpili village, she could not easily access antenatal care because of the absence of nearby health services.
She eventually delivered her baby at home, exposing herself and her child to serious risks including:
Postpartum haemorrhage
Obstetric fistula
Maternal and newborn complications
Possible loss of life
When Juliana Kifola met the young mother, she found her weak, vulnerable and suffering.
Juliana supported her to receive medical care, and ensured that the baby received vaccination services.
This experience deeply affected Juliana and inspired her to establish an organization that would address the root causes of suffering in communities through:

Later, she met Latim Stephen Olam, and together they began actively supporting vulnerable communities

There is a lot that happens around the world we cannot control. We cannot stop earthquakes, we cannot prevent droughts, and we cannot prevent all conflict, but when we know where the sick, the victims and the the most vulnerable exist, then we can help.

The Community Justice, Health and Education Empowerment Initiative (CJHEEI) is an integrated project by Humanity Network in Uganda that improves access to quality healthcare, promotes equal educational opportunities, and strengthens access to justice for vulnerable children, women, youth, and underserved communities in Northern Uganda.
The project provides health education and screening, school support for disadvantaged children, legal awareness and referral services, victim support, and community outreach to reduce preventable diseases, school dropout, gender-based violence, child abuse, and injustice. By working with communities, schools, health facilities, and justice institutions, the project empowers people to live healthier, safer, and more productive lives.
Key Focus Areas
Health: Health education, disease prevention, screening, maternal and child health, mental health awareness, and referral services.
Education: School support, scholarships, life-skills training, literacy, and keeping vulnerable children in school.
Criminal Justice: Legal awareness, protection of children's rights, support for victims of violence, access to legal aid, and rehabilitation and reintegration of justice-involved individuals.
