At Humanity Network in Uganda, we believe education is one of the strongest tools for breaking the cycle of poverty, vulnerability and social exclusion.
Many children and young people in vulnerable communities face barriers that prevent them from accessing or completing education. These barriers include poverty, teenage pregnancy, family challenges, social stigma and lack of support systems.Our education programs are designed to ensure that vulnerable children and young people have opportunities to learn, develop skills and build better futures.
1. Supporting Vulnerable Children to Stay in School
Children from poor and vulnerable families are at increased risk of dropping out of school due to financial and social challenges.Humanity Network in Uganda supports vulnerable children through:

2. Education Support for Teenage Mothers.
Teenage pregnancy is one of the major causes of school dropout among adolescent girls.Many teenage mothers experience:Stigma and discrimination,Rejection by families,Loss of educational,opportunities,Poverty and dependence.
Our program supports teenage mothers by:
✓ Encouraging them to continue their education.
✓ Connecting them with available learning opportunities.
✓ Providing psychosocial encouragement.
✓ Promoting dignity and acceptance.
✓ Supporting pathways to economic empowerment.We believe becoming a mother should not mean losing the opportunity for education and a better future.
3. School Health and Life Skills Education
Education is not only about academic knowledge; young people also need information and skills to make healthy and responsible decisions.
Our school and community education activities promote:Health awareness,Prevention of teenage pregnancy,Child protection awareness,Personal hygiene,Life skills development,Responsible decision-making.The Story Behind Our Education Commitment.
The experience of supporting a 16-year-old teenage mother in Otumpili village showed us the devastating impact that lack of education and support can have on young people's lives.
A young girl who should have been in school instead faced pregnancy, rejection, poverty and unsafe living conditions.
Her experience strengthened our commitment to ensuring that vulnerable children and young people are not abandoned when they face difficult circumstances.
